Never thought those words’d pass my lips. Now hold on while I go put some soap in my mouth.
Now all my Democrat friends have sat back and enjoyed my railing against Romney. So stop your whining and take your licks.
I went through and watched Barry, Michelle, Bill, and even the charming Miss Sandra Fluke regale us with the depth of their thinking. Watching Michelle speak I was amazed at the fact that she was clearly the least offensive person in the building. Every person in that building looked sick and pathetic. I saw small people. No confusion for sure, while my spirit screams that the country’d be better off if we just decided to glass the building, they are all people worthy of dignity owed to all humans.
The words I kept hearing over and again is the idea of “shared” opportunity/hardship/profit; that, “We are all in this together!” Hardly. I saw a room of parasites. Not a person in that room actually would be required to share a thing. Why? Because they aren’t producers. Their sick, parasitic attitude disallows the potential for success. In other words, they have NOTHING TO SHARE. But they’ll cheer along when someone talks about how the other guy needs to share. So long as it’s couched in a manner as to protect their self-image they can pretend they’re not simple parasites. I know of a libertarian or two along the same lines, thinking that if they only scream Ayn Rand quotes loud enough it’ll take away from the fact that they are parasites as well. Honestly, what exactly does Miss Fluke have to share? She apparently cannot even pay for her own birth control. Yes, I’m quite certain a woman who graduated from Cornell with a degree in Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies, and is angry because Congress won’t listen to her demands that they FORCE SOMEONE ELSE TO DO SOMETHING has something of value to “share” with society. Yeah, real producer there.
What is wrong with your party when you actually give an audience to SANDRA FLUKE?! Miss Fluke’s great claim to fame is that she was justifiably disallowed from speaking about mandating insurance companies provide contraception. Apparently she should have been allowed to speak on the matter even though she failed to follow proper protocol simply because she has a vagina. This is a common theme amongst Democrats. Anyone should be allowed to speak at any time anywhere. To be denied a platform on which to speak, whether it is Code Pink interrupting a congressional hearing, a person standing up and bogarting everyone else’s time at a townhall meeting, or Ms. Fluke not being allowed to speak is actually evil Republican censorship. But, as per all you political cheerleaders out there, you decide to make hay with it and accuse this of being an attack on <insert group here>.
Michelle actually gave a pretty decent speech. My only complaint is in the general “us v. them” attitude she took. “You don’t close the door of opportunity behind you – you leave it open!” Really Michelle? Do you honestly think that Democrats are just desperately trying to keep that door open against a Republican onslaught to shut it?
Clinton did a pretty decent job, though riddled with the same “us v. them” attitude and dishonest number play. He reinforced the same foolish concern for making sure everyone gets into college, because what we really need is even more Sandra Flukes. You want to rescue this country from the brink? Maybe take a moment and listen to Mike Rowe. There’s a man with a plan. It was Mike Rowe who so accurately said that we talk about millions of ‘shovel ready’ jobs for a society that doesn’t encourage people to pick up a shovel”. Why then the title of this post? Well, the man did say one thing right: Republicans sit around and talk all day about cutting taxes (something I agree with) but they never follow it up with the promised spending cuts.
The bottom line is that you’re all idiots, include you Ron Paul groupies who speak of your independence but get sucked into the personality cult of Paul or Rand. Look, if you cheered during the national convention of either party, go take a look in the mirror at yourself; you’re an idiot. I occasionally feel the desire to scream, “Hooray for our side!” I understand the comfort in the groupthink. But use your head dammit, if you feel the need to yell in unison with thousands of other people for a sense of community, GO TO A FOOTBALL GAME. Get it out of your system there.
